What they say….

Theatre Uncut was created in 2010 to get people thinking, talking and taking action on the events that are happening in the world around them. The idea is simple. Playwrights from a selection of countries are asked to write brand new short plays in response to their current political situation. These scripts are then made available for anyone to perform anywhere for a limited period. Theatre Uncut is run by artistic directors Emma Callander and Hannah Price. What we say….

Just Jones & is taking part in Theatre Uncut for the first time in 2014 as our first artistic event at the our pop venue Wells Way Pop Up

Wells Way Pop Up –  a former disused library –  is the perfect setting for an evening of discussion, debate and drama provided by some of the UK’s most exciting playwrights and a team of extraordinary actors and directors. There will be music, plays, beer, coffee and you can even have your say on the future of Burgess Park – everything you could need to spark a thousand ideas and a thousand conversations. Performed at our atmospheric found venue, the Wells Way Pop Up in Burgess Park, London SE5, this evening of three short plays offers three distinctive perspectives of what austerity means to us 4 years in.

We will be performing as staged (script in hand) readings directed by Rebecca Manson Jones

Inua Ellams –  RESET EVERYTHING – Ex-girlfriend, bedroom tax; Jodi wants to kill two birds with one stone.

Vivienne Franzmann – THE MOST HORRIFIC – “Did you hear the one about the schools in Birmingham that were full of terrorists?”

Anders Lustgarten – THE FINGER OF GOD –  It could be you: The lottery gets a make-over.

What you say ….

After the performances join us for an informal Q&A about the plays, austerity, Theatre Uncut and for a chance to dream your vision for one of South East London’s treasures, Burgess Park.

Please note: the library is a Grade II listed building without level access or accessible toilets. Please email info@wellswaypopup.co.uk to discuss any access requirements you may have.
